Environmental hazard overhaul!


The world 2 environmental hazard mechanic has been redone!

Before now, this mechanic comprised of a single block that would kill the player upon contact. To put it simply, this was boring.

So to fix this, I've added:

  • 3 different variations, small, medium, and large.
  • 2 rotating variations which are in the shape of helicopter blades. Small and large.
  • A variation that doesn't move, but if you get into it's radius, it'll create a spike that kills you.

In other news, I've also added:

  • A new boss warning! Still gonna work on it a little when I have time, but it's looking good.
  • Stage 3's arena shape has been edited slightly to make it easier. This was done because it's an introduction to Timeloop, so the player shouldn't be hindered by the level's shape when they're trying to learn the mode (thanks to a friend for giving me this suggestion!)
  • A bonus enemy! This enemy is VERY fast. It moves towards you from the edge of the level, and then off the screen. If you kill it before it hits you or goes off screen, you'll get a ton of multiplier pickups and points. This enemy can spawn in any level aside from bosses, and is completely random.
  • What happens after you've been hit has also been changed (if that makes sense)! The player will now blow up and move back to their spawn position, and a bomb will be set off that wipes out most of the enemies but doesn't give you their points.
  • All Zones levels have been remade! Enemies will now always spawn away from the middle of the map, which is where the largest cluster of Zones SHOULD be. This will help the player survive longer.

And finally, the game is now being compiled using the YYC compiler! This should hopefully make it MUCH faster.

Right now the game is still compiling, as YYC is pretty slow when it comes to that. It should be ready and uploaded within the next 10 minutes!
